We have an opening for a Senior HR Generalist in our Hagerstown, MD location. The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the Human Resources Director and HR support personnel at the other Fives Landis locations. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

Compétences requises

  • Participates in developing departmental goals, objectives and systems.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual process improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Conducts new employee orientation and integration, including pre-employment tests and background checks.
  • Maintains employee personnel files and HR Information System database in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
  • Performs employee benefits administration to include open enrollment, benefits communication to employees, carrier contacts, approving invoices for payment, change reporting, COBRA etc.
  • Coordinates with supervisors and administers performance evaluation program, workers compensation insurance program, organizational training program, service awards program, safety glass program, OSHA recordkeeping system.
  • Performs governmental regulation required reporting(i.e. EEO, etc)
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.

Expérience requise

  • Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree in business related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years human resources practices experience a must.
  • Requires broad knowledge in principles of human resources.
  • Excellent oral communication, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and ADP’s – HR Information System, HR Benefits Solution.
